       Maskens' Mobile Studio offers the best of both worlds. Maskens' Mobile Studio is equipped for music production in both the audio and digital realms. With the emergence  of computer based recording studios or digital audio workstations (DAWs), most recording studios are equipped primarily to work in the "traditional" audio realm boasting quality microphones, preamps, A/D/A conversion and outboard gear. While analog equipment will likely always play a dominant role in music production, there has been a growing trend of popular music production having it's origins in the digital environment. Use of software synthesizers and samplers and digital audio processing is becoming more common in popular music. While most studios these days utilize a DAW and digital audio processing in their production, there are none known locally to also dabble in the vast world of software based samplers and sound synthesis to a significant extent.

We are  well equipped for the production of analog-style music of yester-year and today's digital genre's. In the analog realm we have a premium outboard preamp and a selection of ten quality microphones from names synonymous with quality like: Neumann, Audio Technica, Shure and MXL. We record at high quality sampling rates up to 96 KHz and a bit depth of 24 bits (CD quality is 44.1 KHz and 16 bits). Our audio interface has 16 inputs and 4 outputs. With these capabilities, Maskens' Mobile Studio is ready to record your large projects whether it be a full rockband, a grand piano, an acoustic instrument or vocal performance, we can capture your performance in rich, pristine detail. 

       Maskens' Mobile Studio isn‘t equipped just for larger projects though and this is where our software really shines, especially if you're a solo aspiring musician. Maskens' Mobile Studio can supplement your material. We have a vast library of software samplers and synthesizers at your disposal.  These software capabilities will allow you to add highly realistic sampled electric and/or acoustic bass and drums sounds, or even a whole orchestra. Synthesis options are equally if not more vast with the ability to create evolving soundscapes, electronic rhythms and beats, smooth leads and pounding bass, sounds modeled from famous synthesizers and others completely original! Maskens' Mobile Studio boasts an impressive 200+ gigabytes of samples and software, that's over 200,000 megabytes!

         At the center of Maskens' Mobile Studio is one of the world's most powerful laptops in the market today. It is a customized Sager NP9280 with three internal hard disk drives and a desktop CPU, the Intel i7 950, clocked at 3.06 GHz. This quad core processor is hyper-threaded effectively yielding the power of 8 cores! This “mobile workstation” acts as the hub where our hardware and software meet and plays host to our vast collection of software. Powered by the Windows 7 64 bit operating system, Maskens’ Mobile Studio uses the 64 bit version of Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition as it’s host sequencer. Sonar 8.5 is an immensely powerful application easily capable of supporting over a hundred audio and MIDI tracks (limited only by the power of the computer). Maskens' Mobile Studio is on the bleeding edge with the latest software and computer technology.
